ERF implemented solar pumping based surface irrigation project in Mahoba, Bundelkhand with support from Tata Trust.
Solar pump irrigation is a promising technology application in Mahoba due to unavailability of grid power and expensive diesel fuels.
The project was designed for community management with a usage charge. Surplus revenue was to be used for other development activities in each village. We worked with communities to help them understand the technology, its impact, and how to use it to minimize water wastage.
