SOLAR PUMPS FOR GREEN REVOLUTION IN BIHAR

A preliminary assessment was done in collaboration with EVI under the ‘partnership for accelerating clean energy deployment’ (PACE-D) project. Micro grid based solar pumps offer a promising solution to electricity and irrigation shortage in Bihar, especially for vegetables and other cash crops.

8 solar pumps were set up using CSR money in partnership with BASIX. The model was cooperative model with pumping services accessed by farmers based on a charge which is lower than Diesel Costs currently spent by them. The surplus to be used for scaling up the model.
